The Hydraulics Engineer is a member of the Logistics Engineering group that provides technical services to the Company in various capacities. The Hydraulics Engineer will be the subject matter expert (SME) for mechanical designs, pump selections, hydraulic modeling/review as well as provide development for Delek Logistics mechanical standards. The candidate selected will need to have understanding of midstream operations, working knowledge of fluid mechanics and hydraulic design for liquid pipelines and terminals. The Hydraulics Egineer will support both capital project execution as well as operations with any troubleshooting that might be needed as well as technical support to sustain operations.

Description & Responsibilities

* Respond to project requests for technical support including code interpretation, specification of engineered materials and equipment, construction engineering responses, attending process hazard review sessions, membership on company technical committees
* Assisting the mechanical design process by developing hydraulic design models of piping and pipeline systems while developing the process for PFD and P&ID, developing specifications for purchased products and materials, developing piping and pipe elevation design, selecting and specifying pumps (API 610, ASME/ANSI and Industrial where appropriate) valves, and appropriate process controls.
* Conducting thorough and timely design review of engineering packages produced by third party engineering firms. Providing leadership, direction, and work instructions to designers and external design contractors relating to the design packages being prepared for company projects.
* Assisting the project manager in the collection and review of as-built drawings and other archive data required in the permanent records of the company.
* Contributing significantly to the definition of design processes, procedures, and work instructions and the continuous improvement thereof.
* Producing, monitoring, and improving engineering standards, recommended practices, standard designs, and specifications that form a part of the design library of the company.

Requirements - Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Civil Engineering
* Three (3) - seven (7) years of practical engineering experience in refining / pipeline / petroleum terminals / utility field(s)
* Understanding of and ability to apply basic engineering principles
* Proven analytical problem-solving skills
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Previous experience with refined products and crude oil pipelines and facilities
* Previous experience working in and around refineries, hazardous liquids pipelines, terminals, and related facilities
* Experience with PipelineStudio, Pipeline Toolbox or Synergi/Stoner
* Caeser II pipe stress analysis would be a plus
* Knowledge of DOT Part 195
* One must have the ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment in order to effectively handle the multiple tasks of the job.
